These fairy cakes are special because they’re pirate fairy cakes. Why are they pirate fairy cakes? Because I am super excited about the All-New Tinker Bell […]

Do you ever look through old recipe books and find a recipe that truly surprises you? That’s this recipe. Lemon Drop Cookies aren’t a reference to the cocktail, not at all. They’re named after that old-as-the-hills hard candy from Brachs that we all know and love. When I was a kid, cough and throat drops […]

Remember the other week when I made those crazy good strawberry scones? Well, I managed to find the same brand of strawberries here on the East Coast, and they were just as flavorful. One of the greatest things about having a blog is the ability to really come out and support someone or something you really believe in. I had the pleasure of meeting Michelle Stern from What\’s Cooking With Kids last year at the BlogHer Food convention in San Francisco. We had quite the adventure in a stretch limo with about 12 other bloggers, something we\’re still laughing about! (And this is quite a dramatic story for another time.)

What I\’ve come to know about Michelle is that she has an all-encompassing passion for getting kids interested and enthused about good food that is good for you. This is a passion close to my own heart, as I wrote in my post about Food vs. Fauxd.

This weekend is the first in a long time that we a) have a working kitchen and b) didn’t have any plans. I said to James mid-week, “So far, we don’t have any plans for the weekend. Let’s keep it that way!” Instead, we decided to spend the weekend sleeping in, and planning things we’d […]
