I have this relationship with Green Mountain Coffee. No, I don’t specifically mean the company, though I do have one of those too. What I mean is, for years – long before I was a K-Cup Ambassador, or their recipe developer, the coffee made by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters was my favorite in the world.

I would stop at the Exxon by my house in San Antonio every single morning for a very large cup, especially during Fall – it meant Pumpkin Spice was in season. Long before I fell in love with cooking and baking, long before I considered even having a website, let alone a food blog, my intimate relationship with this coffee was born.

To me, good coffee is as important as good chocolate. Life is too short to waste your pennies on the not good stuff. Green Mountain Coffee, well – it’s just good stuff.

So much of their coffee is Fair Trade. They’re doing everything they can to create an eco-friendly, disposable k-cup portion pack. Their employees go out and volunteer each month on company time. These are all really good things I can get behind, and it just makes the whole love affair more enjoyable for me.

Green Mountain Coffee is based out of Vermont. I wrote about it at length in my Vermontitude post (a term taught to me by Kristen, their original social media maven). A few weeks ago, a bunch of K-Cup Ambassadors got to go to Vermont to see the factory, the train station I wrote about in my original post, visited all our favorite restaurants and got apple cider donuts.. man was I jealous!

I couldn’t go because my mom and dad were visiting. We had a great time together, but I couldn’t help but be a tiny bit sad about missing that Vermont trip.

Can I tell you how nice the people at Green Mountain Coffee and Keurig are? They put together a lovely little basket that represents Vermont from start to finish, and sent it to me since I couldn’t go on the trip.

Francesco is a real life barista – in fact, a two time world champion Barista, who tasted Barista Prima Coffeehouse coffee and agreed to be the spokesperson for said coffee because of how delicious it is. These are wonderful gifts and just so very excited to enter in the contest and I am revising my wish list to include the above. Green Mountain is also my favorite coffee, and, like you, I went out of my way to a gas station to get my coffee. And then the office introduced the Keurig 6 years ago in the faculty room. We bought one days later. Summer 2010 I tricked my family into going to Smuggler’s Notch when it really was a reason for me to visit GMC (seriously..) Have a picture of the kids in front of the train station there, after taking them to Ben and Jerry’s. :) Definitely have Vermontitude here in Connecticut.
