There are certain tools in my kitchen that I cherish. I use them every day, in multiple ways, and they mean even more to me because they’re heritage pieces. Pieces that I inherited from Nanny or my mom, things that I grew up using.
I’ve spoken before about my favorite ice cream scoop, a scoop my Nanny gave me about two years ago. It was hers for the entirety of her marriage, purchased in the late 50s. It still works like a charm today in my kitchen, and every time I hold it, I think fondly of Nanny and Gaga, and the nights when Gaga would sneak off to the kitchen and make us all cake cones with chocolate ice cream right before bed, much to Nanny’s dismay.
When the folks at Jacob Bromwell approached me to review some of their products, I was intrigued. They’ve been around for 192 years. One hundred and ninety-two years! I am in love with every single product on their site – from the fireplace popcorn popper to the flour sifters, every single item on the Jacob Bromwell site screams heritage.

I was both surprised and delighted to realize that the St. Joseph Flat Shredders set on Jacob Bromwell’s site is the exact same set Nanny had in her kitchen throughout my childhood. Lord knows how old they were – I asked my mom, and she said she remembered them from her childhood. Nanny’s (and now my mom’s) set works as well today as if it were brand new.
So when the JB guys asked if I’d like to review those shredders, well – it’s a no brainer! I’ve now got another heirloom piece in my kitchen, only they’re brand new! Holding the tin shredders was literally like a throwback to my childhood. The hours Nanny had me on a stepping stool, shredding potatoes for hashbrowns, slicing cheese for grilled cheese.. you name it, these guys were her all purpose tools and now they’re mine!

I love their popcorn popper—been eyeing it forever! Love the idea of the rotary ricer too–my mom always used one to make her canned applesauce, it brings back such great memories!
The pioneer folding toaster looks like it would bring out my inner Laura Ingalls.
I would love to have the handcrafted Jacob Bromwell All-American Flour Sifter with that cute wooden knob on the handle. I had a sifter and it was destroyed, so I have been using a strainer and could use this. Thanks for a great website!

I really like the flour sifter. I had one like this years ago and lost it when we moved to Illinois 20 years ago. I’d love to buy another one–in fact, I may just do it.
I also really love the flour sifter – the All-American one. Thanks for such a great giveaway!
I would love the Jacob’s Popcorn bowl.
I actually am strongly considering buying the All-American Flour Sifter. My mother had one when I was growing up just like that that she’d inherited from my grandmother, her mother-in-law. It eventually got a rust spot and had to be retired but this one brings up so many fond memories!
I would love the popcorn popper as a gift for me! The microwave popcorn leaves me wanting old fashioned popped corn.

I love Bromwell’s and have my grandmother’s Bromwell flour sifter that I use when I bake (and it still works perfectly). I would choose the Morgan’s Famous grater (another nostalgic item from childhood that I still wish that I had). Thank you for letting me know about this site!

Actually, I could really use the Marshall rotary ricer – the stand for the one I have is long gone, so it’s very hard to use!
What a great giveaway! Other than the graters I’d love to try the signature chestnut roaster – that would be so cool to try at home!

Alas, I’m torn between two loves: the authentic potato baker (how cool is that?!) and the original popcorn popper (for my nightly popcorn addiction….). I think both would be GRATE to own!
